A leading UK door manufacturer required an accessibility solution for its brand-new flagship showroom in the Milton Keynes area. As part of the showroom's construction, the client wanted to ensure every visitor could enjoy the full showroom experience regardless of mobility, making accessibility a key element of the development from the outset.
Working on behalf of the Principal Contractor, A1 Access Lifts was appointed to supply and install an Aritco PublicLift Access platform lift. This landmark project represented the first accessibility installation within any of the client's nationwide showrooms, establishing a new benchmark for inclusive showroom design across the business.
The Challenge
The new showroom had been designed to showcase premium products within a contemporary retail environment, meaning the lift needed to complement the overall architectural finish while providing safe, reliable and intuitive access between levels.
As the installation formed part of a live construction programme, close coordination with the principal contractor and other trades was essential to ensure the lift installation progressed alongside the wider build schedule and was completed in readiness for the showroom opening.
Delivering the client's first accessibility project also meant ensuring the finished installation reflected the quality, innovation and premium standards associated with their brand.

Installation
The installation was carefully coordinated alongside the wider showroom construction programme, ensuring all works were completed safely, efficiently and in line with the overall project schedule.
Working collaboratively with the principal contractor and other specialist trades, our engineers completed the installation, testing and commissioning of the lift ahead of the showroom's opening, allowing the accessibility solution to form an integral part of the finished development.
The Result
The completed Aritco PublicLift Access now provides safe and convenient access throughout the showroom, ensuring customers, staff and visitors can experience every area of the building with confidence.
Providing approximately 3.5 metres of travel with a 410kg rated capacity, the lift delivers dependable everyday performance while integrating seamlessly into the premium showroom environment.
